The meeting featured a keynote scientific presentation, "Same Sex Couples and Their Families: A Demographic Perspective" by Gary Gates of the Williams Institute and a panel discussion on population research methods for the study of LGBT Health, with presentations by Dr. Kerith Conron and Stuart Landers, Dr. James McNally, and Dr. Gary Gates. Participants at the faculty meeting discussed the coming year's planned activities and reviewed the Center's accomplishments in the previous year. Center working groups met to generate new research collaborations and to follow up with plans developed at last year's meeting. Students in the Pop Center's National Mentoring and Fellowship Program met face to face with their mentors and discussed their plans for LGBT health research.

This final report draws from the discussions of leading experts at the 2006 LGBTs of Color Sampling Methodology Meeting and overviews the best practices for sampling hard-to-reach LGBT population groups. The Pop Center's Dr. Scout was the science writer for the report; Pop Center scientists George Ayala, Elisabeth Gruskin, and Alicia Matthews also contributed. The report is available for free. 2009-04-17 Mentorship Opportunities in LGBT Population Health ResearchAre you a student or recent doctoral graduate interested in LGBT population health research? We invite you to apply to our Mentoring and Fellowship Program.
